CHEMICAL BONDS

Chemical Bond: n. An attraction between atoms that allows the formation of chemical substances that contain two or more atoms.

As a chemistry fanatic, I dedicate this post with a brief introduction of chemical bonds. There is something beautiful about how everything is interconnected, at one point or another. This interconnection could take place between two things very similar, or two things very much the opposite. And with the odd yet fantastic events that took place yesterday, I was able to look at the fashion industry under a new beautiful light.  Allow me to explain.

One could say that chemical bonds are mere connections and these connections can vary on what they are connecting, how they are connecting and so on. The fashion industry is full of these "bonds" and their beauty. You have connections established between two different businesses, such as our meeting with the reps at Rockit Ranch Productions (media production + fashion label), and you have an inter(between)molecular bond. You can also see connections established within a business, such as mine and Omar's amazing friendship, and you have an intra(within)molecular bond.

In this industry, we all are interconnected through bonds. No matter how different we are, no matter how strong the bond is, no matter how far we are from one another, it is the combination of each one of our bonds that creates this intricate web that holds us all close to one another and one another's dreams. It is the Chicago fashion industry that nourishes and preserves this intricate web, and that is why Chicago has won my heart: it introduced me to chemical bonds.

Love be with you,
